Skeleton sceptre
This sceptre consists of a skeleton without arms. The skull is crowned with a half vajra. The sceptre is one of the macabre attributes of Yama, the Lord of Death. However, it can also be the attribute of the Conqueror of Death (Yamantaka). This is a more elaborate version of another sceptre in the collection (ABR 077), which is crowned by a skull. The skeleton symbolises the victory over death and karma and the ultimate emptiness of phenomena. This terrifying weapon is used ritually against negative forces.
