Unidentified Tibetan monk

Unidentified Buddhist Monk, made in one piece as a hollow cast.
The eyes are inlaid with silver and copper and the pupils filled with a black lacquer-like substance. The garments are extensively decorated with engraved ornaments including letters in the lan tsha script. The bottom of the pedestal is not sealed.

The unidentified monk is seated in the diamond attitude (vajraparyankasana) on a single lotus pedestal with a lower beaded border. He displays with the right hand the gesture of argumentation (vitarka-mudra), and with the left hand resting in the lap, he holds a water-pot filled with the elixir of immortality (kalasha). He is clad in monastic garments (tricivara).
