Azurite on mother rock

Azurite is one of the minerals frequently used in Tibetan painting as a pigment. Its highly appreciated deep blue colour is used to represent the sky or water. Azurite is present on the oldest examples of Tibetan painting.

This piece of azurite on mother rock has this aesthetic natural round shape not dissimilar to that of mandalas, for example the piled lotus mandala with Mañjushri footprints (ABS 322).

Crystal healing as well as some traditional medicines also associate azurite with specific qualities and properties. It is said to stimulate, among others, meditation, creativity and spirituality.
