Fragment of a Halo (prabha) in repoussé

Standing atop a lotus flower are a Buddha and a monk holding a mendicant staff and a begging bowl. Next to them are a miniature elephant and a dancing lion (?). All the characters remain within a large stylised vegetal scroll between two rows of pearls. This piece of embossed gilt copper with traces of pigment was part of a large halo encircling a Buddha or a deity.
