Hindu Yantra painting - instrument of meditation and concentration
Yantra is a Sanskrit term that can be translated as “instrument”. Since very early times such symbols were used in Indian mysticism as instrument of meditation and concentrations upon the yantras is used to balance the minds of the practitioners.
The concentration upon yantras have various benefits, among them astrological and various spiritual benefits. Yantras are part of the tantric traditions especially of the brahmanical religions and to a lesser extend in Buddhist traditions.
