Tsa Tsa Offerings
The practice of making clay offering tablets known as tsha tsha («tsa tsa») in Tibet is very ancient and existed in almost all civilizations. Such tablets were formed with the help of matrixes that could be made from many different materials such as wood, clay, stone, or metal. Clay offering tablets could be made cheaply and provided also poor people with the means of making offerings. The style of a tsha tsha indicates the age of the matrix while the tablet itself could be much more recent.
